Today I visited Nanis on Great Portland Street. I'd been recommended the place by my boss, upon hearing about my sausage sandwich quest, telling me it's well renowned locally for it's cumberland sausages. To my surprise, when I entered I couldn't see any sausages on the menu- until I wandered into the back of the shop and realised they had a separate counter for hot drinks and breakfast- how delightful! I ordered a cumberland sausage sandwich on white, buttered and slightly toasted bread. The sausages were cooked in a proper hot plate grill and not microwaved. All for £2.30.
It's surprisingly hard to find a good sausage sandwich in the morning that meets all my criteria - taste, texture, price, satisfaction of purchase, distance from work. Clearly this is a very important issue that needs addressing, so I shall be keeping a record of my future sausage sandwich purchases.
Today I stopped at Make Mine on Regent Street having been enticed by their offer of a DIY sandwich chalked on a board outside their establishment. I was most impressed by their sandwich configuration options, but for you dear readers I stuck true to my quest.
